MIDWIFE RACHEL - SUSSEX

East Sussex and West Sussex

About me

Hi! I’m Rachel, midwife, wife and mummy to two littlies, Euan who is three and Iris who is one! I qualified as a midwife in 2011 with a first class honours degree from The Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. I shortly moved to London to work in a large maternity unit where the majority of my time was spent in the midwife led birthing unit caring for women having midwife led water births before caring for my own women and their families choosing to have their babies at home

As a village girl at heart, I grew tired of city life and soon relocated firstly to Surrey and then to Lindfield in West Sussex, where I've now settled with my family. With this move also came a new job in the local community providing antenatal and postnatal care, home births and antenatal classes to the women in my care. I formed really close relationships with the families I cared for, and to this day love hearing from them and how they're all doing!

Hypnobirthing

I qualified as a Katherine Graves Hypnobirthing (KGHypnobirthing) Teacher in early 2017 after witnessing more and more women using the powerful techniques in labour. I was astounded at how calm, relaxed and confident they were in birth and it inspired me to support women in my care using these hypnobirthing tools. I’ve also since used these skills for the births of my own two children, Euan and Iris. They enabled me to achieve relaxed and positive birth experiences, even with the need for a medical induction with my first birth.

What else?

When I’ve got some spare time, you can find me either on long walks with Euan and Iris in the carrier accompanied by my busy Border Collie Pippa or tending to my chickens in the garden. I can't wait to meet you all and support you on your own very special journey.
